In the last issue, we profiled 10 of the top assistant coaches in prep football from the East. This issue, we take a look at 10 more from the Western half of the U.S. 1. Wayne Cichon, DC, Colgan (Pittsburg, KN): Has helped coach Chuck Smith win five state titles with four runner-up finishes in 23 years. The Panthers won 66 straight games from 1999-2004. Cichon has also coached Colgan to four state titles in basketball. 2. Greg Clough, DC, Minnetonka (MN): Clough spent time as a Division I-AA and II assistant before joining the high school ranks. The Skippers are 28-7 with a 5A state championship the last three seasons with Clough and head coach Dave Nelson. 3. Randy Huff, DC, Ponderosa (Parker, CO): The Mustangs were 5A state champions in 2003 with Huff leading the defense. In February, he was named successor to retiring head coach Jamie Woodruff. 4.
