A Pre-Game Walk-Through Script

BY Jim Santamassimo Assistant Coach, West Haven High School (CT) During my two years at St. Joseph High School (CT) a few years ago, we came up with a pre-game walk-through script that we used the day before our games. It covered every situation that might come up during a game. We felt that by using this script, we had eliminated many problems that were occurring during the games, making us more successful. The whole procedure only takes 90 minutes, making for an easy day and allowing your players to get more time off leading into the game. ST. JOSEPH FOOTBALL Pre-Game Script 1) First kickoff return (call out subs). 2) First offense: ball on -25 yard line (10 play drive and score). 3) P.A.T. Team (kick P.A.T.). 4) First Kick Off Team (call out subs). 5) First defense: ball on opponent -25 yard line (Force them to punt). 6) Punt Return Team. 7) First offense: Get all subs in that will
