A good place to start is with a coach who has won an amazing percentage of the games he has coached. Football is truly one of the most engaging things we experience. Whether we are connected to the game through family, friends or local players, we all develop some degree of “favoritism.” We root for our team. We root for our players.
Many of us played the game, and we look back on the experience with an oversized fondness for how much we liked it—even though most of us probably had moments of extreme negativity during hot practices, or on the days we were less than our best. But one thing we all had in common was that we wanted to win. And when we did, it was awesome. Everything was better and more fun.
The best football minds—technicians, coaches, analysts, observers, players and fans— have searched for eons to find better, more dependable ways to win more games. So who do we turn to when we go looking for that magic formula? Well, a good starting place might be someone who has won often—or, even better, someone who has won an amazingly high percentage of the times he has competed. One thing we all had in common was that we wanted to win. And when we did, it was awesome.
