The Leadership Dividend My Grandson and I were watching a TV show about Great Conquerors in History which included three of the greatest...Alexander The Great, Julius Caesar and Napoleon. How did they achieve such amazing success? One theme kept reappearing, each of these three great leaders won critical battles even when they had much smaller armies than their opponents. Sometimes they were outnumbered by 4 or 5 times in warriors, yet they still won.

The common theme was They were Great Leaders and that Leadership made a huge difference. Because their “warriors/teammates” loved them/had great admiration for them, they fought hard and won great victories against overwhelming odds. (Similar to the story of 100 Lions led by a lamb....will lose to 100 lambs led by a Lion) You organize, plan, study, practice, teach, gameplan, meet, talk-to, cheer, discipline, strategize......coach, in all its variety and Give your best in pursuit of victories.

Do you feel you have demonstrated Leadership that will inspire your players to give the best they can, their best effort, not for themselves but for the team? When you look at the great coaches in football, there is one common denominator, their players loved/respected and gave their great Efforts for the Coach. They didn’t necessarily win every game, but they won a great many times. Your investment in Leadership can deliver great dividends.
